A Choeng Mon beach hotel is a stay whose listing actually puts you near that bay, not every hotel Agoda files under the Choengmon area name. The search is “choeng mon beach hotels.” On 27 October 2026 the shortest named distance to the Choeng Mon Beach pin is Kimpton Kitalay Samui, at 500 m. SALA Samui Choengmon lists a private beach and puts the same pin at 640 m. Cape Fahn lists a private beach, uses “private island” in the hotel name, and sits 940 m from that pin.
Absolute Sanctuary is the one people mix in because the address says Choengmon. It is a 38-room wellness hotel on a hill. Agoda does not print a Choeng Mon Beach metre for it. Chaweng Beach is 3.29 km.
Nightly prices are not printed. They move every week. The links use Agoda partner id 1969274 and the hotel id already on the listing.

The short version
Kimpton is the family-scale resort with the shortest published distance to the Choeng Mon Beach pin, and Agoda lists a kids club. It is still 500 m, not a step off the bed onto the sand. SALA is the pool-villa resort that also ticks “private beach,” with the public pin farther away than Kimpton’s. Cape Fahn is the small one, and the listing argues with itself about whether there are 24 rooms or 22.
Absolute Sanctuary is a real Choengmon address and a bad answer if the requirement is the beach. Use it for a wellness stay. Use the other three if the bay is the point.

Kimpton: 500 m to the pin
Kimpton Kitalay Samui is at 10/79 Moo 5, Bophut, Choengmon, 84320. Five stars, 138 rooms, three floors, opened in 2021. Score 9.1 from 703 reviews. The nearby-landmark list puts Choeng Mon Beach at 500 m and Thongson Bay Beach at 1.43 km. The nearest-essentials line says “500 meters to the beach” and does not name the beach. Read those as the same claim, not as two different beaches.
Check-in is from 3:00 PM. Check-out is until 12:00 PM. Reception is until 11:59 PM. The same block also prints “check-in until 3:00 PM,” which does not sit cleanly next to a reception that stays open. If you land late, ask the hotel rather than trusting that one line.
Breakfast is 750 baht unless the rate includes it. Airport transfer is 800 baht, about 15 minutes. The Samui Airport pin is 3.35 km. Agoda lists a kids club, a kids’ pool and five restaurants. The club hours and the JUNIO age range are on the family resorts page, not re-checked as a timetable here.
SALA: private beach, and a pin at 640 m
SALA Samui Choengmon Beach Resort is at 10/9 Moo 5, Baan Plai Laem, Choengmon, 84320. Five stars, 69 rooms, two floors, opened in 2004. Score 9.2 from 2,091, the largest review count in this set. Agoda lists a private beach. The nearby-landmark list still puts Choeng Mon Beach at 640 m and Thongson Bay at 1.61 km. A private beach on the facility list and a public pin 640 m away can both be true. They are not the same sentence as “the room opens onto the public beach.”
Check-in from 2:00 PM, check-out until 12:00 PM. Breakfast is 1,148 baht unless included, the highest printed charge in this table. Airport transfer 600 baht, about 15 minutes. The airport pin is 3.26 km. Two restaurants. The kids facilities are a kids’ pool, kids’ meals, family rooms and babysitting. There is no kids club on the facility list I read. Room names on the listing include Garden Pool Villa, Sala Pool Villa and a one-bedroom pool villa suite. I am not going to invent how many of the 69 have a private pool.
Cape Fahn: the listing disagrees with itself
Cape Fahn Hotel is at 24/269 Moo 5, Bo Phut, Choengmon, 84320. The Agoda name is Cape Fahn Hotel – Private Islands Samui. Five stars, score 8.8 from 250 reviews, the smallest count of the beach-side three. The property-facts block says 24 rooms, one floor, opened in 2018, most recent renovation 2025, two restaurants and one bar. The overview paragraph on the same listing says 22 rooms and a 2022 renovation. I am using 24 and 2025 because those sit in the structured facts, and I am telling you the paragraph disagrees.
Agoda lists a private beach and a beachfront facility. Room names include Beachfront Pool Villa and Ocean View Pool Villa. The Choeng Mon Beach pin is 940 m. Thongson Bay is 1.89 km. City centre is 9 km. Check-in from 3:00 PM, check-out until 12:00 PM, reception until midnight. Airport transfer 660 baht, about 15 minutes. The airport pin is 3.93 km. No breakfast charge is printed, so I am not guessing one.
The overview calls it a private island. I did not measure a causeway, and I am not going to borrow a length from an older article.
Absolute Sanctuary: Choengmon address, hill hotel
Absolute Sanctuary is at 88 Moo 5, Bophut, Choengmon, 84320. Agoda’s map pin is 9.55775, 100.07687, and the address is not obfuscated. The resort’s own site says the rooms are on a hill overlooking the gulf. 38 rooms, two floors, opened in 2008, renovated in 2020. 3.5 gold stars, and Agoda says those stars are supplied by the property. Score 8.4 from 95 reviews.
The places list I read has Wat Plai Laem at 1.84 km, Big Buddha at 2.37 km, Chaweng Noi Beach at 5.64 km. How to visit Wat Plai Laem, and why the opening hours are not on the TAT Japan page, is in Wat Plai Laem. It does not name Choeng Mon Beach. The nearby-attractions line puts Chaweng Beach at 3.29 km. Samui Airport is 1.84 km on the airport pin, 10 minutes and 400 THB on the transfer line.
Check-in from 2:00 PM until 10:30 PM. Check-out until 12:00 PM. The resort’s policies page matches the clock: 14:00 in, 12:00 out. Late check-out on that page is free until 3pm, 50% of the room rate from 3pm to 6pm, and a full day’s rate after 6pm, subject to availability.
Room sizes on Agoda: Superior lines at 30 m², Deluxe lines at 37 m², Sanctuary Suite at 46 m². One Superior line is garden view with two single beds. One Deluxe line is garden view with one king bed. The resort site also names Sanctuary Deluxe Sea view. Agoda did not attach a separate size to a sea-view line on this check.
The restaurant on Agoda is Love Kitchen. The resort’s policies page says there is no alcohol on the premises. Agoda’s facility list still includes a bar and a poolside bar. The listing name says adult only from age 12, and the minimum guest age is 12. The resort’s child policy says the property is adult-friendly and that children are sometimes on site. Program minimums on that page are separate: detox 18, yoga classes 13, and spa, fitness, weight management and Pilates reformer bootcamp 16.
Melati is the next cove
Melati Beach Resort & Spa is filed under Choengmon too, at 9/99 Moo 5, Bophut, Thongson Bay. 77 rooms, 5 stars, 8.8 from 1,850 reviews. Thongson Bay Beach is 20 m. Choeng Mon Beach is 950 m. Agoda also lists a private beach. If the search was “Choeng Mon,” this is the neighbouring cove, not the 500 m pin at Kimpton. Breakfast is 750 baht unless included. Airport transfer is 300 baht, about 15 minutes.
When the price actually moves
Koh Samui does not follow Phuket’s calendar. The wet season on this coast builds through October and peaks in November, and early December is still the tail of it. The month-by-month version is best time to visit Koh Samui. February is the driest month. Late December through April is when sea-view rooms and anything described as beachfront go first.
What that means for a booking:
- Late December through April is the dry, busy stretch. Christmas, New Year and February are the dates to book ahead. A free-cancellation rate on Agoda, when one is offered, locks the price you see today. I am not quoting a nightly rate, and I am not inventing a percentage off.
- July and August are a second busy patch, from European summer holidays. They are not Samui’s rainy season.
- October, November and early December are the wet, quieter months. That is when a lower rate is easiest to find. Booking “early for peak season” does not describe these months.
Absolute Sanctuary’s own bookings are a different contract from an Agoda free-cancellation rate. The resort requires full prepayment. More than 30 days out, the refund is 50%. Inside 30 days, or on a no-show, there is no refund. Wellness programs on that page are non-refundable.
If the bay was not actually the requirement
Beachfront hotels is the sand-first list for the rest of the island. Family resorts is where the kids-club comparison lives, with Kimpton on this bay and longer club hours at Holiday Inn in Bophut. A 38-room hill hotel with a no-alcohol policy will not win either page.
