Scores, fees and room sizes below are from the hotel’s Agoda listing or from Hilton’s Conrad page, both read on 23 October 2026, unless a sentence names an older check.
On the sand
Hansar Samui is the hotel I would open first if the brief is “I want to be on the beach.” The 12 October 2026 Agoda check used in the beachfront guide had it as beachfront and private beach, 10 m from the Bo Phut pin, 9.1 from 6,567 reviews. Bophut also puts dinner in walking distance. Choeng Mon is the calmer swim if the water matters more than the evening. Chaweng is where the beach is long and the night is loud. I am not repeating that guide’s table here.
Conrad is not in that on-the-sand group. Agoda lists a private beach, and Hilton describes 100 metres of sand, but the rooms are hillside villas. You go down to the beach. You do not step from the bed onto it.
Conrad Koh Samui
Conrad Koh Samui is at 49/8-9 Moo 4, Hillcrest Road, Taling Ngam, Koh Samui 84140. Agoda’s star rating is 5.0, supplied by the property. The score on 23 October 2026 was 9.1, Exceptional, from 1,057 reviews. The phone on Hilton’s page is +66 77 915 888. Check-in is from 3:00 PM until 10:00 PM. Check-out is 12:00 PM. Hilton prints the same 3:00 PM and 12:00 PM times.
The room count does not match across the two sites, so both numbers stay. Agoda’s about text says 81 rooms and suites and that the hotel opened in 2011. Hilton’s page says the sunset is visible from 82 private pools, and that the private beach is 100 metres of white sand. The villas look over the Gulf toward the Five Islands. That is the reason to stay here, along with the pool on the terrace.
Agoda’s useful info that day: airport transfer 2,500 THB, breakfast 1,662 THB unless the rate includes it, Wi-Fi 0 THB, parking 0 THB, 50 minutes to the airport, 29 km from the city centre, 3 restaurants, 2 bars. The same listing’s map pin for Samui Airport is 20.52 km from the hotel, which is not the same figure as the 50-minute transfer. The restaurants named on the listing are Jahn (Thai), Zest, and Azure Bar & Grill.
Room sizes Agoda published with the names: 1-bedroom ocean-view pool villas at 130 m², and 2-bedroom ocean-view pool villas at 297 m². The 1-bedroom Conrad Royal Oceanview Pool Villa is marked partial ocean view and has no size on that list. The 3-bedroom oceanview pool villa has no size either. I am not filling those in.
Taling Ngam is the quiet southwest. The luxury guide puts it 30–40 minutes from Chaweng by road. If the plan is beach clubs and a late night, that drive gets old. If the plan is the villa, it does not. The other major 5-star on this hillside is the InterContinental. Both are in the west coast area guide.

“Best resort in Koh Samui” often means a name. The luxury guide compares Four Seasons, Banyan Tree, the Ritz-Carlton, W and the InterContinental, with THB planning bands from 12 October 2026. Those bands are not a quote. Open the hotel link for your dates.
A honeymoon shortlist, including who actually wants a quiet bay, is the honeymoon resorts guide. A plunge pool on a hotel terrace is not the same product as a standalone villa. The private pool guide separates them. Conrad belongs in that second group: the Agoda room names are pool villas, and Hilton describes a private pool with each one.

When the good rooms sell
Koh Samui does not follow the Andaman calendar. The best-time guide has February as the driest month, and February to April as the driest stretch. October and November are the months to avoid if you want beach weather. November is the wettest month, the island is quiet, and hotels discount. Early December can still be wet. From about mid-December the weather clears, and the last week of December is peak, with rates up there with January and February.
Check today’s rate, and if the date is late December through February, look at a free-cancellation rate so the price you see is the price you lock.
