Wat Na Phra Lan

A working Buddhist temple near Maenam beach, set back from the tourist circuit. The compound includes a distinctive bell-shaped chedi and an ordination hall with bronze Buddha images — one in the attitude of subduing Mara, another stopping a rainstorm. Rarely crowded compared to the island's main temple sites. Free to visit; dress respectfully with shoulders and knees covered.
