The main departure pier on Koh Samui's south coast for boat trips to Koh Tan and Koh Madsum (Pig Island). The pier itself is free to visit and takes minutes; the reason to come is to charter a longtail or join a group boat to the nearby islands. Private longtail hire runs roughly 1,500–2,500 THB for the whole boat to both islands and back; group trips run 500–1,000 THB per person. Koh Madsum charges a 50 THB entry fee per adult. Boat operators line up at the pier and negotiate prices on the spot. Early morning departures see calmer water and fewer visitors at the islands.
